The organising committee has decided that to run the show in 2021, under current scientific expectations for Covid 19, would be the wrong thing to do.
We have taken this decision following an in depth investigation and a subsequent view upon the possible health risk to our own volunteering staff during the many months of preparation, as well as for our team, Sherborne Castle staff and all exhibitors, traders and the public on the day of the show; some 15,000 people.
The decision to cancel the show has to be made now at the beginning of the planning process, as exponentially increasing costs as the show date approaches severely impact our ability to donate to charity, which is the purpose of the show.
The team are however as keen as ever to continue the show in 2022 and through future years, and given that through our sponsors, exhibitors and visitors support we have been able to donate circa £250,000 over the past five years, we view the show as an exceptionally good way to raise funds for charities.
We are now planning return of the show at Sherborne Castle, Dorset Sunday 17th July 2022.
Editors note: The show is an annual event which raises money for charities and has been held at Sherborne Castle in Dorset since 2003. There are around 2000 Classic and Supercars exhibited, 150 stands, a large catering and entertainment area all set in the beautiful grounds of the Castle.
