AUTO ROYALE TO DEBUT AT WADDESDON MANOR IN 2021

July 17, 2020

The inaugural Auto Royale, incorporating the British International Concours d’Elegance event will take place at Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire on 16 – 18 July 2021. This brand new and exclusive event will showcase the very best classic cars from around the world and aims to set a new concours standard in the United Kingdom.

Waddesdon Manor, set in the Buckinghamshire countryside, will host Auto Royale over three days next summer. Built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 1870s for displaying his vast art and antique collection while entertaining the glitterati of the day, the historic manor house has previously hosted a successful concours– the legendary Louis Vuitton 150th Anniversary Classic in 2004.

Auto Royale’s experienced organisers promise the British International Concours d’Elegance competition to be of the highest standard. Celebrating the British love of cars, automotive history and design, and creating a fun and engaging day, Auto Royale aims to reimagine the classic concours paradigm and refresh the vibrant classic car community.

The three-day celebration will showcase a mix of prestigious concours competition, specialist traders, corporate hospitality and the very best of local food and wine, on the stunning grounds of one of Britain’s greatest country manor houses.

A number of classes of vehicles will compete for Best in Show including historics, preservation and restorations. In addition, there will be special classes for the inaugural event including Carrosseries Scaglietti and Drogo, the cars of F1 legend Fangio, to celebrate El Maestro’s 110th birthday, and a class for British favourite Jaguar to mark the 120th birthday of founder Sir William Lyons and 70th anniversary of the C-Type.

Auto Royale is set to be a firm favourite in the automotive summer calendar and will be hosted by ex-racer, raconteur and concours aficionado, Alain de Cadenet.

Paul Mathers, Director at Marque II events said: “On what would have been our opening day today, we are delighted to announce the new date for the inaugural Auto Royale at Waddesdon Manor. We made the decision to postpone our original event due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has been devastating for the events industry, but we believe that next year’s event will be worth the wait. We have used this time to sharpen our ideas to create a reimagined event that we believe will genuinely capture and surprise the collector car community. Waddesdon Manor is the perfect venue, less than an hour from central London and I am so excited to see such a fine selection of beautiful cars displayed on the lawn next summer.

“Our mission is to bring something different to the UK for the international enthusiast and for Auto Royale to become the most anticipated classic car event of the British summer season. We have some more exciting news to share soon and can’t wait to put on a great show next year.”
